Sensex logs new high even as mid, small-cap stocks fall

Sensex closed at 74,086 points, a new life high, supported by buying in banking, IT, healthcare, and auto sectors. Mid and small-cap stocks expected to witness correction. Foreign and domestic funds were net buyers.
