Markets snap winning run, Sensex sheds 173 points

Sensex lost 173.70 points to close at 38,722.93 while the broader 50-share NSE Nifty closed under the 11,700-mark, losing 46 points. The markets had opened flat with Sensex hitting an all-time high of 38,989.65 in early trade.
