The number of refund cases processed by the department has jumped to 1.13 crore so far this year, compared to 62 lakh a year ago, while the amount involved has increased 25% from Rs 66,000 crore to around Rs 88,000 crore, sources told TOI. At the same time the grievance redressal time has been pared from around 90 days to 21 days now.
