The East Coast Railway (ECoR) aims to complete the Sonepur-Purunakatak section of the Khurda Road-Balangir newline project by the end of this year. ECoR general manager Manoj Sharma inspected the project, reviewing safety, passenger amenities, and ongoing infrastructure works. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw will inaugurate the newly constructed Daspalla station and flag off a train to Daspalla. The project is closely monitored by Vaishnaw and is expected to boost the economy and foster socio-cultural connections in the region.
